Epochs: The Virtual Artists' Journeys

Each epoch in the Hunting the Glitch game represents a unique virtual artist, their story, style, and the NFTs published as their artwork. When an epoch ends, the collection is closed, signifying the completion of the virtual artist's opera omnia.

Key Elements of an Epoch

  1. Virtual artist: Every epoch introduces a new virtual artist with a distinct story and style.

  2. Promptmaster: The person who acquires the key at the auction and creates the virtual artist for that epoch.

  3. Duration: The epoch lasts for a specific time, a fixed number of NFTs published, or based on any other mechanism agreed upon by the group members.

  4. Levels: Levels divide the Epoch in Calls allowances for the /gimme command and time intervals.

Evolution of Epoch Rules

Initially, the group was small, and decisions were made through informal consensus. As the group grows, members will collaborate to define precise rules for each epoch. Starting from epoch 1, it was decided to mint 100 NFTs per epoch and hold votes to adjust the rules as needed.

Technical Details

  • Each epoch is a separate ERC721 token contract collection.

  • At the end of the epoch, the contract is void, and no further artifacts can be created for the artist.

  • GLITCH ERC20 tokens are distributed proportionally to the wallet holders of the epoch's NFTs at the end of each epoch.

The Aim of the Epochs

The goal of Hunting the Glitch is to create standout epochs that may gain historical or market value, ultimately exploring the potential for AI-created characters to participate in the human history of art.
